    Pros

The brand name inherited from Microsoft Corp, Pay ,Parties and other good things which they have inherited from Microsoft Corp

    Cons

No Vision for the Company, Treated simply as a cost center with providing any type of sheet work which is demanded by MCS.

No good projects. You will not get to learn any practical things such as good project management or anything.

Treated as offshore slaves. Any thing comes from onsite you have to do it you can not even try to convince and say no for it.

A lot of politics in getting good project. And even above that the project sizes here are not more than 6 month for almost 90% of the projects only 10% of projects are there which are for longer duration.

Too bad work life balance when in project. You may find many peoples sitting till 2-3 in morning to complete the task. so 14-18 hr work in a day with billing of only 8 hrs and it can last for months if you are in a dirty project.

I myself has stayed in company till 3 in morning for a complete 1 month to complete the task. because your seniors have wrongly estimated the time duration for the task and at last you are the guys who will be responsible for it.

From its strength for 1000+ employees at any time in night you will find at least 100 employees sitting till 12 in night and this guys are not in shifts. as there is no shift structure here.

You will never feel that you are working for Microsoft. you will fill you are slaves and given some task and you have to complete it without even getting proper recognition for your work.

To get recognized for your work here is a big politics where you can find 3-4 different groups in company based on you origin and they try to promote there people for the work even if they deserve it or not.

    Advice to Management

Its management is not having any vision and any goals other then just delivering number of hours in a particular year.

EM- And PMs are the worst here they don't even care about offshore resources they just say yes in what is demanded from onsite and it gets delivered in time. People missed timeline by just a day then they are personal enemies of them and never give a good review. And might even try to throw u out of the org.

Should try to make MSGD a equal player as other MS subsidiaries are.

    Pros

Microsoft provides a great training ground to really grow your professional skills - sales, marketing, program management, etc.

    Cons

Quotas and targets in recent years have been unrealistic. Even when someone accomplishes their goals despite the odds, very little recognition is given.

    Advice to Management

The organization needs to have a higher priority on talent management. Too many good people have left the company only to be backfilled externally by "B players".
Also, morale in the field is at an all time low - WHI is not surfacing the details. I suggest HR forms a focus group for each of the areas to develop actionable recommendations to improve conditions.
