Former Employee - Senior Program Manager  in  Redmond, WA
Former Employee - Senior Program Manager in Redmond, WA

    Pros

The people are great - creative thinkers, focused and results oriented.
Great breadth of opportunity across the different businesses - consumer, enterprise, software, hardware, etc.

    Cons

As a former manager the calibration process and reviews has not been tied to reality for the last few years. Most people are rewarded well but some just get stuck in a rut and you have no opportunity to pull them out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change the top level management and stop moving the deck chairs around below. Stop and think about what you want everyone to line up behind. There are too many agendas by different divisions. Microsoft needs to work on being either one company or split the company up.
