I have been working at Microsoft as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Good salary, flew me in for an interview. My manager is nice and supportive, flexible work schedule, good food, take care of their employees.

    Cons

The job itself is not super interesting. It's a big company which means you are probably going to do a small part of something big, and I prefer doing big parts of smaller stuff.

Do your work. Get a paycheck. Get yourself a good manager and you'll get to do cooler stuff to get your paycheck.

I have been working at Microsoft full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Autonomy, work-life balance. Working for Windows is the nice stable gov't job of the tech industry.

    Cons

It's not Google, Apple or Facebook. You're working for the boring tech company.
You're unlikely to work on something that everyone is talking about. You may work on something that knowledge workers and businesses require to get work done and that's cool in it's own way, but it's probably not going to be the thing your friends are interested in and talking about. Tell someone you work for Windows and the first thing they'll ask will be about a bug that even you know sucks but we'll never even think about fixing because we're that removed from customer input.
