I worked at Microsoft full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great individual people, excellent products, fantastic salary and benefits. The best name recognition in the software industry - no one says 'no' to a meeting with Microsoft.

    Cons

Disjointed sales organization and process, too many sales 'cooks in the kitchen,' very little management guidance except when the 'numbers' are due - it's not 'what can WE do today,' it's 'what have you done for ME today.'

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Matrixed sales organizations do not work with 'alpha' salespeople.
