they treat v- employes on a totally different level than FTEs

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have sat with top 10 in Microsoft, they are nice and respectful men and women there is no point to play the fear game with them. Some of them even crack jokes and you should be able to be you around them with a slight bit more of respect but do not make us fake it. Also knowing who your boss is, who their boss is and what they do would be nice.

    Pros

Autonomy, creativity, clear who's responsibilities are who's.

    Cons

Impact limitations, no one vertically seems to be able to pull triggers until you get above GM.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Transparency, transparency, transparency. Give as much as you can in order to empower your people to think about tomorrow's solutions to your problem spaces before tomorrow comes. Makes your people feel more valuable, and a bigger part of determine the optimal path for tomorrow.
