Pros

In the beginning there was some creative freedom, but it depends on your management team. Pay and benefits were okay to average.

Cons

High turnover rate of entire teams not just individuals, unclear communication, constant turmoil internally, some of the director level management is condescending and they don't know much about the field they head or lack significant experience in the industry and have not kept up with the current technology of their fields. Also, some spend too much time wasting valuable company money and employee time with frivolous duties and aren't focused on the needs of the clients, stockholders, or employees.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide clear communication with employees and encourage them to grow and develop within your company environment and outside of it as well.

I worked at Microvision full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The company holds lots of IP that could revolutionize the man machine interface. This is the main asset of the company.

    Cons

The leadership is not staffed for success and is evident by its 20 year record. At one point the company had significant capital to develop, deploy and support the goal to become a viable commercial company for the consumer electronics market, but sadly today they are just barely hanging on with a constant need for capital infusion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Once you fire experts in their respective fields you need to let the functional teams to make the company successful or least complete their plans till they fail. Terminating teams before they complete a given plan is not only fruitless, but ultimately fails the shareholders.

I have been working at Microvision full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Technology and potential are compelling. This is why they keep getting investors.

    Cons

Could never make a profit. Stock price drove strategy rather than focus on building a good product at a fair price. They need stock price to look good in order to entice investors. Burn rate far exceeded revenue.
