I worked at Millennium Surgical

Pros

The other reps are pretty cool.
You gain extensive product knowledge.
Dress code is relaxed- Jeans & Tshirts
Flexible lunch

Cons

Call volume must be high- 85+
Lots of the accounts are crappy and never buy.
The sales manager isnt required to sell or have much product knowledge, yet is the trainer.
High turnover rate-Most dont make it past a year.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work with reps in getting good accounts. You cant make a bum buy a bentley. Just cant afford it.
Grow the sales team, dont just fire people if they miss a quota.
Have the sales manager at least maintain some accounts, so they can have a finger on the pulse of the marketplace. EVERY sales manager SHOULD SELL.

I have been working at Millennium Surgical

    Pros

    Interesting industry
Exposure to different types of instruments used in procedures

    Cons

Micromanaged environment is an understatement. Calls, emails intern communication are all monitored.
The answer to everything is make more phone calls-Expectation is 100 or more
Totally out of touch with reality when it comes to being successful and motivating a team to be successful.
Most people will not make their year anniversity
Pay and compensation is well below the industry standard
Management lacks personality and communication skills
Believes that intimidation is a good motivator
If you are looking for a deadend job with no opportunity for advancement, little to no training, and want to be a telemarketer, then this is the place for you. Lacks any type of corporate structuring. The proof is in the amount of turnover. If is revolving door.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to recognize and appreciate or at least respect the individuals that work for you. If you want to pay entry level salary then expect less efforts. Take a course in management skills and learn how to communicate with people
