    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Compared to my current job and the jobs I had prior to working at Milwaukee, this is the best place I have ever worked. I really enjoyed the family-type environment and the ability to get the job done as I saw fit in most cases. However, the compensation is far too low, all while the company spends megabucks with very little ROI. I agree that to remain profitable a company has to spend some money to make more money, but don't do it while snubbing your employees by cutting out raises, 401K, and even employee appreciation events. That just breeds resentment and gives the impression that you don't care about the employees. That's really my biggest complaint about the company. And most of this started when it was purchased by TTI. Before that, it was far better!

Still, even with upper management making stupid decisions and such, it was the best place I have ever worked. I really wish I had never left there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your "get them while they're fresh out of college and don't know any better" method works great and is an excellent introduction to the working world for your employees. However, it leads to eventual high turnover rates and short term relationships with employees that could otherwise be with you for the long haul. If you want to retain your talent longer, I would look into cutting back the work load or adding more people as "burnout" is a huge reason for people opting to look elsewhere after year 3.
