I have been working at Mimi's Cafe

Pros

Everyone treats everyone like they are family. Its a fun place to work and if you know how to up-sell and are very good to your guests, you will make great money.

Cons

The only busy times at Mimis are Friday nights, Saturday and Sunday mornings. So, if you're not working those shifts you wont make as much money as you would expect to.

This restaurant has a lot of potential but they concentrate on all the wrong things

    I worked at Mimi's Cafe

    Pros

The food is definitely wonderful and most of the employees are very easy to get a long with. The facility is extremely nice and kept very clean.

    Cons

I feel the system they use for appetizers and before meal items (salads, soups, muffins) is extremely inefficient and leaves to much on the server. Also, the pot pie system is ridiculous. The managers are usually nice but don't really seem to relate to the staff and act extremely superior.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees more. We're the ones serving, and even though I'm sure many of you have before, things change. We deal with this day to day and sometimes change is necessary.

I have been working at Mimi's Cafe

    Pros

Flexible hours, good location, good food,at first everyone sems helpfull and nice.

    Cons

The managers and trainers are out of control.you can't do anything without asking them first.and half the time theyre no where to be found.they also do not help you when you're real busy.almost all of them are micro managers and nit pick over stupid little things that are not important instead of focusing on bigger issues.there's a couple of managers there who are good.the problem is the newly promoted ones.also there's a lot of grouchy people working there and lots of them have been there forever so they are respected.but they are rude, backstabbing, and lie about things to try and make you look bad if you don't kiss their asses.lots of politics and clicks there.if you don't kiss ass they will try to make you look bad in front of everybody.if you make a mistake, even if its a little one, management will loudly announce it in front of everybody.and repromand you for all to see.also long time workers there boss you around and try to make you look bad,and expect you to do their work while they do nothing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please stop micromanaging.noone likes or respects a micromanager.don't listen to gossip.even if its from a "reputable" source.a lot of the people who are trainers or long tme employees are not nice, helpfull,or even hard working.they just put on a show when management is around.ass kissing does not mean good worker.also don't assume someone is not doing their running sidework just because you didn't witness it.a lot of the trainers and lifers loudly accuse workers of not doing their running sidework when they are doing it.
