I have been working at Mindtree

Pros

Good place if you get into a good domain
Got to know that for freshers, it is a decent place
At times, you can reject a particular project and then opt for another one of your choice
Very good locality of the office
Performance is recognised most of the times (especially if you are under a good lead/manager)

Cons

1) It is not a company that it is projected to the outside world..please dont boast too much about integrity...we all know your integrity levels
2) To become a billion dollar company, kindly work on the basics first
3) There are some technical managers/technical directors/senior managers, who, for the sake of staffing a person to a project, even though it might not be his area of skills, behave almost to the extent of "pimps"..yeah..I am right in my expressions..they behave amost like a pimp..
4) Here is the formula for calculating your net take home salary at MindTree:
5) Net take home = (Another company's same CTC without variable pay component) - 23%
Ex: If your CTC is 6 lakhs, then monthly salary = 50,000 - 23% = around 38,000.
People aspiring to join MindTree: Beware of this!!!! :-)
6) Lots of "local onsite opportunities"...while ofther company people could boast that "I had been to US, UK, Japan or Australia", MindTree's Minds (thats again a good analogy.."Mind"....:-) ) can boast themselves of having been/being at virtually all the Tech Parks in Bangalore (Bagmane/ITPL/EC/Manyata)...for us, this is what an "onsite" opportunity means..:-)

Advice to ManagementAdvice

MindTree made its venture in 1999..at a time when most of the earlier IT industrry gaints had made a big leap in their getting projects/setting an image to the Market...I beleive that for MIndTree, it cant expect to become an IT gaint ina only 10-15 years...but what can be paid attention to? Answer: Groom better Mid-level managers, Senior Managers. Respect the high performing employees..they are really a big asset to any company...retaining a talented employee can really increase the head count in any project..thereby increasing the revenue for the organization...and for god sake...please keep the variable pay external to CTC..it is by far, the biggest joke that is discussed about MindTree outside of it...
