Current Employee - Director of Marketing in New York, NY
Current Employee - Director of Marketing in New York, NY
No opinion of CEO

Pros

Good people, good environment to be creative. One of the only studios in New York, so there's not much competition for employment

Cons

Can be difficult to understand some of senior management's decisions. Work is either feast or famine, which can create long periods of stress.

Advice to Management

While is it desirable to be a filmmaker friendly studio, marketing is a specialized division that doesn't always need extra opinions from the filmmakers.

I worked at Miramax as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Their employees have a good work/life balance, and seem happy to be working at the company. Great for those who want a solid paycheck, a calm work environment, and not much else.

    Cons

The employees aren't enthused about their jobs and do not seem as ambitious as those in similar positions at competing companies. The workload was underwhelming because my supervisor seemed underqualified for their job and didn't have a very big workload ever.

    Advice to Management

Develop the internship program. It seemed very unorganized down to the end when my exit interview was with another intern in HR.
