I have been working at MoSys

Pros – There is very little micro-management. The company runs lean so employees are empowered make appropriate decisions and get their work done. Good benefits. Nice facility. The team has cultural, technical and intellectual diversity. People are serious about success yet friendly and fun. Everyone seems to be enthusiastic about the company's direction.

Cons – The company is in growth mode and transitioning to a new business model, so some objectives seem like moving targets. More regular guidance from managers would be useful. Performance feedback would be appreciated. That seems hard to come by. On a day-in day-out level, there is too much paperwork involved in normal business processes. A cutting-edge high-tech company should at least have automated systems for submitting expense reports, benefits forms and such.

Advice to Senior Management – Provide more feedback to direct reports on performance and the more fluid objectives. Automate!--way too much paperwork and overhead in certain areas.
