Pros

Great place to work. People are kind and friendly, team environment. Leaders are smart and make decisions at reasonable timeframes! Flexible and understanding regarding personal time.

Cons

Promotions don't always make sense. Can be viewed as 'good ole boys' environment at times.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give recognition where it is deserved, but good job nonetheless.

Kissing up is a must if you want to move up in the company. Way too many politics.

    Pros

    * Benefits were good. But insurance costs are going up, just like most companies.
    * 401-K for new employees is great. $1 for $1 up to 6% and fully vested after one year.
    * 60% employee discount on faucets (limited to 2 a year).

    Cons

    * The career website claims that they offer a pension, however that is for employees who have been there before 2008. I believe that is when they changed the policy.
    * I feel really bad for the customer service department. Because non-exempt employees are required to clock in and out every day, the manager of the department takes full advantage of her power. If you're late even a couple of minutes, it's mentioned on the performance review.
    * No room for growth unless you do some serious kissing up. It's hard because many of the managers have worked in their current positions for years, so it's hard to get mentorship from them to learn something new in a different department.
    * No raises for long time and when you do receive one, it's never more than 2%.
There have been lay-offs (not mass, but still lay-offs) every year, since early 2007.
    * Way too open of an environment. They don't have traditional cubes so you get to deal with a lot of annoying habits from the people sitting next to you.
    * Som North Olmsted corporate deparments are not located in the big Moen building. So if you're looking for upper management exposure, then don't plan on working in the Country Club Blvd location.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

*Show some respect for the people who work under you and quit threatening to eliminate jobs when times get tough. We all know that times are tough for all companies, but show some compassion for people when they're going through tough personal times (or late 3 minutes for that matter).
    * Quit having so many closed door meeting. We all know that you are considering a reduction in force.

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in New Bern, NC

    Pros

Pay is above average with average benefits

    Cons

If you are not with in the circle friends to include wives of the plant manager then you will be singled out and ostrisized. The facility is more like high scool reunion then a professional work enviroment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clean house. There needs to be some real auditing of house practices are being administered. The ability for individuals to work without having to feel they have to kiss up and join the plant manager after hours for drinks is an absolute if you plan on advancing. Also, please make sure his wife like you or your spouse or it will effect how you are treated at work.
