    Pros

I had a great time at Mohegan because I loved my department. This is such a huge company to work for that your experience will depend on where you work and who you work for.

    Cons

Because of the size you can feel like just a number (in fact when you call HR you have to give you employee number).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be nice of upper management respected employees needs and voices, particularly those in professional positions

    Pros

There was a lot of opportunity for development and career changes. The medical and 401K benefits were excellent. Salary was good, could've been higher based on industry standards, but fine for the local community. Employee cafeteria was not stellar, but at least the company provided free meals. Employee Appreciation Days and holiday parties were excellent.

    Cons

Attendance system was not always fair. Employees should be given some leniency in difficult or uncontrollable situations. I hated parking in the Employee Garage and having to take a bus over... perhaps the garage could be a little closer to allow employees to walk into the employee entrance versus having to ride a bus. Also, Tribal preference does not help the long-term goals of the casino. In any other world, it wouldn't make sense to hire/promote a tribal member with little to no experience and terrible work ethics over someone with a strong background in related fields, proper education, and excellent work ethics.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the little people! Don't just hear them, actually listen. Just because some people don't make as much money or have prestigious titles like you, doesn't mean they shouldn't matter or have the ability to provide profound input. Remember, the little people are actually out on the floor and are first hand witnesses to customer praises and gripes that can make a difference and contribute to the company's long-term success.
