Pros

Company car and fuel card, plenty of perks, monthly/quarterly/annual bonuses for meeting or exceeding sales objectives, great brands which makes selling to stores easier, opportunities for advancement for those who can relocate are very ample, a sense of entrepreneurship in having your own territory (the company is flexible in the way you operate your territory as long as it follows company guidelines and policies).

Cons

Product supply issues at the warehouses are nearly constant, seems to lag behind when it comes to taking advantage of the latest technology, opportunities for advancement for those who are not willing to relocate is very limited. Not a good position if you like working with other co-workers (this position has you working independently more than 75% of the time).

Advice to Management

Better align product supply forecasts. I have been embarrassed too many times running into these issues.

    Pros

Work hard, produce results and opportunities will typically become available. Employees are free to identify career goals and plan/develop towards them. Many career paths available.

    Cons

It is a very large company; one that takes pride in having the best people. However; being very good at what you do will not always get the recognition that distinguishes your performance from others for promotions. High potential employees are 'selected' and their performance is actively hyped/showcased by their mentors/promotors.

    Advice to Management

The very aggressive quest for 'having the best people' has become a self-serving exercise for mentors who 'champion' their selections--in some cases at the expense of other deserving employees. This is not the best way for people or the company.

  2. Good experience, but time to move on for career development...

    Pros

    Work life balance is good.

    Cons

Promotions are few and far between. Career development is limited for R&D engineers.
