I worked at Mondelez International as a contractor (more than an year)

Pros

- Excellent learning opportunities and mentorship under my supervisor.
- Coworkers were very professional
- Good working atmosphere; very seldom are individuals singled out for mistakes
- Family focus

This company is good to work for if the cons were left out. Pressure to perform was certainly there, but guidance was sufficient for you to do your job well.

Cons

- Temps/contractors treated as second class
- Poor business planning; building the plane as they fly
- Low pay to non-union, senior employees
- Poor benefits

As a contractor working there, you feel as you don't belong. The moment your services are no longer required, you receive a call from your agency that you are finished. No word from your supervisor or manager. There have been instances where individuals have been turned away at the door as they were not notified soon enough. Poor business planning needs to be addressed as the operations side is in constant change, favored employees are kept on the morning shift while the rest are shuffled to the afternoons. There are employees that have been with the company for years who require income assistance due to the low wage.

I have been working at Mondelez International full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The benefits of a large multinational. Good salary, personal development plans in the form of appraisals, reviews etc. Friendly, supportive team.

    Cons

Monotonous, excessive red tape for simple processes. Too many layers in the hierarchy and too much involvement of all levels in all minor decisions. Opinion not valued as much as it could due to the amount of people required to make changes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Empower employees to make decisions they are able to make. (Fit their importance in the company, salary level etc).
