I have been working at Monster Media

Pros

Work with big brands, unique creative executions, good benefits, laid back workplace

Cons

disorganized management, major internal conflicts between departments, bad communication to clients, more about selling a "product" than a creative solution, ads can be very cooky cutter and management believes more in creating a template to resell over and over rather than unique creations for each project, does not hold client accountable for anything, ridiculous deadlines, a lot of ineptness and inexperience, claims to want employees input and that management is there for help but shoots you down when push comes to shove, doesn't know industry standard for creative pricing, etc.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

actually listen to your employee's suggestions and stop just looking for "yes men" as key employees. stop selling "products" and consider your services more as creative solutions for the client's needs. pay your employees what they deserve or at least get closer to the industry's standard. salaries are good if you live in the 1980's.

I have been working at Monster Media full-time

    Pros

Great opportunities to work with some of the biggest brands and agencies. Get to create innovative work on a national platform. The best place to do advertising work that matters in Orlando.

    Cons

At times, we jump through hoops for clients so there can be long hours to meet a specific launch date. Could also create a more collaborative working atmosphere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue doing what you're doing with increased emphasis on inter-departmental communication and solution-based thinking.

I have been working at Monster Media

    Pros

The company does great work with world class companies, resulting in a great portfolio for anyone who works there. The experience gained looks great on resume, and it is definitely rewarding when a project you worked on launches.

    Cons

The company is sales driven, which affects the quality of the work, and the morale with the employees. It's more important for a sales person to earn a big commission, than it is to deliver a great product... That is until the client complains, and then sales tries to blame everyone else. You can tell management is stressed most of the time, and designers/developers get moved around projects. There used to be a great environment and culture, but it gets worse by the week.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on quality work, and forget quantity.

    No opinion of CEO
