I have been working at Monster Worldwide full-time for more than 8 years

Pros

People are still familiar with the name.
In 52 countries.
Looking to sell the business to another company could create new opportunities for career growth.

Cons

Lack of management's ability to see that the world has changed since 1994 and to move Monster from on online job board.
Quotas are based on the whim of management.
Round after round of layoffs has cut into the bone.
Smartest people are looking elsewhere.
No career path or planning. No innovation.
Lots of angry people, and treating people badly is not only tolerated, it's reinforced.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sell to Google, if they'd buy.

    Lacking in direction and training from 1 tier management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Train your sales people, both inside sales and field working on SMB accounts. They new ideas and methodologies. Currently everyone is feeding out of the troft and not bringing in new logos.

    I worked at Monster Worldwide

    Pros

    If you can hit outlandish quotas, the pay is stellar
    If you were/are field-based, great flexibility
    Great opportunities to learn, grow & hone skills

    Cons

    Honestly the worst, most-incompetent sr. sales managers I've ever worked for
    True big brother, rule by fear mentality
    Sal Iannuzzi has run this ship into the ground
    Sales Managers should remove the word "sales" from their title, because they can't
    In the past 24 mos. this company has hemorrhaged some of the best sales talent around, and it shows
    Completely irrelevant today, and it's not going to get better

    Watch your back, never know when it'll come around to bite you
    To a certain RVP in the East, get your head out of your @$$
