I worked at Monster Worldwide full-time for more than a year

Pros

You get to observe how not to run a business. Observing incompetent senior management is also a teaching tool. Great place for egomaniacs.

Cons

Feels like walking into high school or a sorority each day where catiness and the ability to backstab any idea you cannot steal are key skills to survival.

I worked at Monster Worldwide full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    -great work life balance
    -low stress environment
    -well known brand name
    -generous compensation and benefits

    Cons

-completely sales-driven organization but technology is fallin dangerously behind
-general denial about economic landscape and position of company from management
-culture of not taking ownership for work is endemic at this company
-lots of unmotivated people just coasting along for the ride

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Being sales-driven when your products aren't competitive in an increasingly competitive marketplace doesn't make sense. It's depressing to see such a great brand name slowly die from inaction and fear of taking risks.
