I worked at Montgomery County Government - Maryland full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Flexible timings. The only reason I worked here was because my kids were young and it gave me flexibility to leave whenever I could and didn't have to take work home. Good health insurance too(better rates than other places)

Cons

Low pay and lots of Politics and favorotism. quality Hard work is not appreciated.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work should be awarded rather than favorotism.

    Somewhat good pay
    mostly good colleagues

    Cons

    Only downward communication from management to workers at dept. of health & human services, administrators have little idea of what workers do, intolerant of worker's disabilities and medical problems, use creative ways to get rid of workers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Try doing or learning the jobs of your subordinates before making inane decisions that cause operational disruptions. Educate yourselves on ADA regulations and employer requirements.
