I have been working at Mood Media full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

4 weeks PTO, great benefits, job security (if you're a keeper) and limited micromanagement.

Cons

Restructuring is causing disorganization and confusion. Priorities seem muddled as everything has become an emergency and staff get excessive workloads piled on.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in talent - in short, pay better and you'll keep them. Even incentives would be sufficient but those offered lately have been unobtainable under the current paradigm.

    With Muzak for over 10 years until Mood took over and moved jobs to Austin.

    I worked at Mood Media full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Great benefits and time off. Worked with great people.

    Cons

    Unfortunately most of the good people were let go because entire departments were moved to Austin. Because of this most of the experienced people are gone and company is currently a mess.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Good luck you are going to need it After working with Muzak during a previous centralization 8 years ago the next year is going to be hard. Maybe you should have kept some of the Muzak upper management, they knew the processes.

    Dysfunctional Disaster

    I have been working at Mood Media full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Most managers in Fort Mill are relatively flexible.
    Senior Management and their Texas-sized egos stay in Texas.

    Cons

    * No raise in over five years. Wages are low compared to the area. Don't even think about trying to live off the pay.
    * Constant downsizing of workforce and increase of workload. Many functions are now being outsourced.
    * Fort Mill went from world HQ to backwater labor camp. Used to be around 500 employees, now barely 120 -- all crammed into one corner of a huge, purpose-designed building. Many employees now work at folding tables.
    * Management and Staff in Austin are openly hostile, unhelpful, unprofessional and untrained.
    * Senior Management are so stuck on themselves and whatever concept they have without any thought to company reputation or impact upon workforce.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    To Lorne Abony, CEO Mood Media: Stop being greedy and open your eyes -- your "management team" is sinking the ship.
    To John Cullen, President Mood Media: Stop acting like a five-year-old throwing a tantrum. Your personal vendettas are ruining an American institution -- and countless lives.
