I worked at Morgan Stanley

Pros

Still a brand name. Overall, company still has a lot of bright people. You can still get good exposure to a breadth of products/services offered, and technology that goes along with them.

Cons

Due to regulatory and market factors, focus has moved away from trying to be "great". A ton of exceptional people have left.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let us get the profitability up again, and avoid additional write-offs so the stock can get up to $35 at least. Get the CDS spreads down! Merge with another bank if necessary.

I have been working at Morgan Stanley

    Pros

Working in the IT department allows many employees the flexibility to work from home.

    Cons

Despite being promoted to VP 3 years ago and taking on new roles and new responsibilities, I am still paid below market and less than my male counterparts.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leadership needs to be more concerned about employee morale.
