Pros

* It's rewarding to work with and help clients.
* You can literally build your own business within a business.
* There is a lot to learn to enhance your own peronal wealth building.
* You meet some pretty interesting people with dynamic and varied backgrounds.

Cons

* Success in this business is very difficult.
* The ability to build a business to a level of high compensation takes a lot of time and perserverance..
* The interests of the firm, the client, the shareholder, and the employee are rarely aligned.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

* Pay the new hires well, and for a longer period of time. Give people a chance to buld a business.
* Senior Management should not have executive roles until they have actually been a wealth advisor
and have built a book of business.
* Conduct and maintain a formal level of training for new hires, in all positions.

I worked at Morgan Stanley full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Large big name bank with International exposure. Good place for grads.

    Cons

This company is all about the bottom line regardless of the quality of their product. No concern for their employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A great company needs great people, cost cutting has it's limits when you give up all your experience for lower expenses. Reinstitute 360 degree interviews.
