Former Intern - Wealth Management in New York, NY
Former Intern - Wealth Management in New York, NY

I worked at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney as an intern (less than a year)

Pros

The people were really friendly and nice, and the work environment was overall very friendly and light. It's a small branch on 52nd street so it is easy to meet people and make a lot of connections.

Cons

Nowhere to really grow if you want to seek other opportunities within the branch. You can only go so far in Wealth Management. If you are unsure about the business, you should try exploring other opportunities.

I have been working at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

When you have nothing to do, it could last a very long time, flexible working hours.

    Cons

no room to grow, very unhappy employees, no bonus, no raise, no nothing, one can only feel happy still having a job.

I worked at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

prestige, autonomy, resources, braintrust talent, self-study training materials.

    Cons

lost-in-the-80's sales culture, care-less regional mgmt., no tolerance for underperformance,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your business model is to gain the assets of all your FAA's contacts at the expense of the FAA's short tenure with you. Don't you think this reputation already preceed's your recruitment efforts?
