Former Employee - Equity Analyst Intern - Academic Year  in  Chicago, IL
Former Employee - Equity Analyst Intern - Academic Year in Chicago, IL

    Pros

    - Really bright, kind, and talented people
    - Casual, laid-back atmosphere
    - Freedom to work on whatever interests you
    - Nice creature comforts / facilities
    - Excellent work / life balance for full-time and intern employees
    - The work is meaningful and the mission is worthwhile. Independent research
    - Top brass are very down to earth and approachable
    - Feels like working at a start-up

    Cons

    - Internship is not very structured. I worked closely with my team, but did little in terms of formal training, corporate training, or interacting with any other team. Which could be a positive depending on your perspective, but I didn't understand well how my work fit into the work that everyone else was doing.
    - Career path is not very clear

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Consider making your academic-year internships more structured

Current Employee - Data Analyst  in  Chicago, IL
Current Employee - Data Analyst in Chicago, IL

    Pros

Great company culture, flexible schedule, lots of employee training, friendly co-workers, promotion opportunity is there if you want, great communication between team members and with team leaders. GREAT BRAND in Chicago!

    Cons

Job actually does not require much analytic skills. It's almost always checking data accuracy and filling the database. Project manager or Team Lead may have some high-level smart thinking. But as data analyst, you tackle with non-technical and non-analytic jobs which easily get you boring and losing you spirit. BTW, sometime, you need to work 9 or 10 hours a day!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make more connection among different units such as data team, research team and IT solution team. Some analyst may have enough background digging into research or programming projects. They can work more closely.
