Pros

Mosaic is very laid-back and overall has a good work/life balance.

Cons

There are loads of employees at Mosaic that have been with the company for so long that they have no idea what is considered good business practices in the current world. Mosaic has little interest in change to improve efficiencies or improve in general. There are few members of management that has what it takes to challenge the status quo. They are often part of the been-there-way-too-long problem.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring in fresh blood, especially at your operational divisions. Senior corporate management should be challenging decisions made at the operational management levels to make sure there are sound foundations for the decisions being made. It often seems like the operational management runs the corporate management.

    Pros

You get to work and collaborate with a lot of different people. The emphasis on training is high and there are many opportunities to grow your skills and knowledge.

    Cons

Working in a commodity based industry is a bit riskier because when product prices and sales volumes fluctuate there are more chances for layoffs. Advancement into leadership roles is heavily weighted on education and individuals with degrees are often times given more opportunities for advancement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure that you are paying close attention to the people doing the tasks assigned by leaders to ensure that you have the the right people in the right leadership roles. Also remember to treat each employee with dignity and respect throughout their careers.
