I have been working at Motiva Enterprises full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits (same as Shell)- 9/80, purchased vacation, health/dental/financial

    Cons

You will have to deal with the Old Guard of Southeast Texas and the grand standing of those in management or those who aspire to be management. Training for engineers is muddled and lacks adequate mentors and supervision. Disciplines do not have clear boundaries for work duties. Some operations personnel are frankly inept or hard-headed (or both).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow more flexibility and mobility from site to site. Do not limit your employees careers by keeping them at the same site. Set the bar higher in order to hire more competent operators.
