I have been working at Motorola Mobility full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Technology, co-workers. Things were much better while Sanjay Jha was there.

Cons

Still too much senior management, Several Senior level managers hogging what little credit should be given to the underlpeople doing the real work.

I have been working at Motorola Mobility full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Nice weather pretty much the entire year.

    Cons

NO, Zero, Kaput, NONE opportunities for younger talented engineers. If you are good or bad, nobody cares. It seems the only metric is the number of years you been sitting in front of a PC.
Company is not able to identify, and recognize talent.
    NO pay based on performance.
Too many senior engineers, very tired to think.
I would not recommend anybody to join this company, but if you do, negotiate your entry salary pretty well, that salary will not move up anytime soon, no matter what you do.

I worked at Motorola Mobility as a contractor (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I worked as a contract Lead Project Engineer in the Motorola Mobility Deployment Group for three years. Fun, non-challenging work with great people in the Field Engineering ranks. The Project managers were also great to work with. In addition, the Deployment Group management team was outstanding. If I was rating the Deployment Group on its own, I'd give it 4 or 5 stars. And my compensation as a contractor was very good.

    Cons

Motorola Mobility upper management team is a lost cause that has no tact when trying to motivate employees. Lack of vision, protecting the upper management club, and having no guts what so ever does not make for a strong firm. I hope your collective plans to stagger into retirement on the backs of the hard working and talented Motorola Mobility employees fails miserably.
