I have been working at Motorola Mobility full-time

Pros

The people make the place and there is definitely a lot to learn in this exciting industry.

Cons

All of the changes with the takeover have really made the workplace difficult. A lot of layoffs and it has taken a big affect on morale. Plus the new management is not listening to it's employees, which makes working relationships complicated. Also, the work-life balance can be difficult, because it's a fast-paced industry.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start making decisions and sticking with them instead of flip-flopping every week. Employees are working tirelessly to fulfill your needs, so please listen to them when they explain why processes will or won't work.

I have been working at Motorola Mobility full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Interesting new technology, evolving Google-like culture of optimism and energy

    Cons

Chicago. Still layers of management, bureaucracy and entrenchment (fat); there will be more blood-letting, but if you survive it might be great again someday. If not, you learn high volume manufacturing in global EMS environment and move on.
