I worked at Motorola Mobility full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Used to be a fun place to work where people actually cared. You manger actually cared about your career path and looked out for your growth.

    Cons

Constantly outsourcing and downsizing. It's like walking on a ice covered lake in May. Always have to watch your step and watch for the swinging axe.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on your people - they are the ones who made you a success before you started cutting their throats.

I worked at Motorola Mobility full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people and great severance package

    Cons

low morale, slow at making decisions, no career development and no vision

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

stop the firing and then hiring; it been going on too long and all the real talent has already left the company. Moving HQ to downtown Chicago is not going to get anymore talent, if the talent is smart they will take 1 look at the company and run the opposite direction.
