    Pros

    The people who invented digital cable worked here and were the smartest people I ever worked with. When they were making money it was a great place to work.

    Cons

    When Arris bought the company they started laying off people over 40.. many of the key players who helped put them on the map in the first place. At one point MM was running with two CEOs who were both making obscene amounts of money and still laid off talented people. T

    Greed and disloyalty are ugly.

    I worked at Motorola Mobility full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Good engineers that took their jobs seriously. The benefits were good and the management at my south east site were also good. This is a company that started as an engineering company and usually treated their engineers well. Google is providing an even better employee experience. Possibly Google will define a winning strategy for their engineers to realize.

    Cons

    Several rounds of senior corporate management changes could not identify a winning strategy. Frustration set in at lower levels over conflicting changes in product and personnel management.

    Define a winning strategy beyond being just another handset vendor.
