I worked at Motorola Mobility full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Used to be the best cell phone company to work for. 100% Android products. Good brand and reputation. If you find the right group within, you could be set. Very interesting, challenging work. Incredibly intelligent, dedicated people to work with.

    Cons

Layoff after layoff after layoff. Corporate split from the main Motorola, then buyout, then sell-off - all cons from the employee's perspective (big shareholders could potentially disagree). Selling the nice suburban owned campus, and renting space in downtown Chicago, forcing settled employees to commute over an hour each way. Motorola Mobility has become the ugly stepchild of the mobile industry. Hopefully Lenovo can keep the name alive.
