I have been working at Motorola Mobility

    Pros

Motorola Mobile Devices has good benfits, mostly good good career paths, very good diversity. The Cell phone industry has to be one of the most exciting industries to be in for the last 10 years.

    Cons

Motorola is in a very tought spot, new competiion from apple, google, along with traditional sony/ericson, nokia, samsung, and LG. Difficult to see success. The organization is ineffective, decisions are only made at the very top, and lay offs continue.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fix your organization to be effective. Structure jobs so employees can make decisions and develop product that can contribute to and be proud of. Culture has become only top managment makes decsion so why bother. Ensure you reward hardwork, not just the employee who spend most of their time "managing up". Focus on consumer facing differentiation not technolgy.

    I worked at Motorola Mobility

    Pros

Low Stress - The job was not very demanding
Good work/life balance - Had good vacation schedule and allowed summer hours
Room for promotion - Definitely room to move with the company

    Cons

The job was not very demanding, I often found myself bored.
I joined directly out of college and did not have very much support from the company

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide more support and incentive for your younger workers. I may have stayed if I felt that there were people willing to help me grow in my career.
