I have been working at Motorola Solutions full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Being one of the oldest companies in Radio communications, its the leader in the market. Lot of engineering going on and lots to learn for starters. No dress code, being the fun part. Flexible working hours depending on various departments. Definitely a company where one can retire.

Cons

Old management techniques and performance reviews. No competitive salaries and not uniform among departments for new hires with same engineer grades. Not much career growth for individuals unless you are exceptionally good(rather excellent) in your job.

Advice to Management

Time to update your management techniques and the way the management and Employee Grading scenario goes. Create more space for employees to explore possibilities and keep inspiring them to go beyond their jobs not just by saying but rather by guiding them.

I have been working at Motorola Solutions full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Health, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance Compensation is competitive

    Cons

Outsourcing leads to a lot of stress when you're constantly worried about your job being sent to India. Unless you're an engineer or sales, no real chance to move around within the company.

    Advice to Management

Stop outsourcing. I find it hard to believe that the company is saving any money by outsourcing when those of us still here have to deal with people who don't speak our language or understand our business. I waste more time explaining what is needed to 20 different IT people because they don't speak our language and don't understand our business...and collecting a salary to do so. Used to be so much easier when IT was in house. They understood the business and could better understand the needs of the business.
