    Pros

Good Benefits despite one year glitch. Learning opportunities were there. Not all departments are negative to work for. You could earn Six Sigma belts over time which may add to your hiring value elsewhere. Still had some sense of community despite struggling to retain some of the better qualities that once made this a very good company to work for. Working with other co-workers and departments interest

    Cons

Too process oriented. Extraordinarily political atmosphere despite tolerance policies. Management minimizes value of investments it has made in it's employees, Too many meetings, not enough positive action. Continuous preaching of cutting costs while wasting money on perks such as hiring a costly motivational speakers for only upper management while in the middle of lay-offs. Company morale that was on the decline 10 years ago, was accelerated since the merger of Symbol and Motorola. Too often had discontinued products before having the new ones even being close to being available (the backfire of single sourcing and being too LEAN). Mid-level and lower level managers have been very condescending, acting as if the employees were ungrateful spoiled children, Company has been replacing US workers by out sourcing or with direct hires in global locations despite risk to business relationships. CEOs stating they were not leaving, left within months of the claim. Managers expected you to breathe company 7 days a week, such as work from home on a Sunday, and take on projects despite your responsibilities and workload, in order to come even close to the full 5 score from there PMP evaluation. Your ability to give overtime is dismissed as "normal" further devaluing the experience working for the company. Silly decisions such as moving desks back and forth multiple times and changing job titles despite little to no change in job function and without any improvement costs time, money and only serves to foster more negativity

    Advice to Management

Read the Cons and act accordingly. Need new and better approaches. Shareholders should vote in a new board of directors. Climate must change for the better if this company is to survive or even appeal to a new suitor.
