    An absolute career killer!

    Pros

    A nice area of Cambridge

    Cons

Most staff have been there at
least thirty plus years. Human Resources is not confidential in the least and if you have an issue and go to your HR person, they know everyone so chances are your supervisor will get wind of this. The pay scale is ok but there is such a small staff you will work for it. Anyone hiring?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Invest in your employees!

I have been working at Mount Auburn Hospital full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great people, A community hospital where you get to know everyone. Great learning experience when I first started 8 years ago.

    Cons

After being here 8 years not much is keeping me here. Night differential is among the lowest I have heard of and havn't raised it in years. The last night differential Raise for an RN was probably 5 years ago and it was maybe .25 cents or .50 cents. Also the RN to patient ratio is unsafe. Giving night nurses minimum of 6 patients on a tele floor to save $$. Thats all they seem to care about is saving a penny at the patients expense. Unsafe at times for sure.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Appreciate your nurses more and consider lightening the work load or maybe give them some incentive to stay.
