Pros

This is a place where a new nurse can learn a lot about nursing. You get to see different types of patients. The hospital is next to beautiful Biscayne Bay on Miami Beach. The views of the ocean and downtown Miami are simply awesome.

Cons

You get a yearly raise of not even 2%. The medical benefits aren't that great. The PCTs on the floors tend to be lazy. It is difficult to get meds from pharmacy. Many employees in this hospital are quite rude, unfriendly, and unprofessional.

Advice to Management

Spend more facetime with rank=and-file-employees in order to see what is really happening in the hospital.

    Pros

MSMC provides decent training to fresh graduates, and being a teaching hospital, the doctors, nurses all are involved in the teaching process.I also saw good peer support.

    Cons

Pay is below standard. Their is favoritism when comes career advancement. Increased patient to nurse ratio and increased paper work which limits the time that can be spent with the patient. Very few nurse aides

    Advice to Management

Please improve pay scale of the nurses if you wish to retain them. Also, decrease the redundant paper works. There is more time spent in covering backs than patient care.

    Pros

The pay was decent but job description kept being added to.

    Cons

They take advantage of single people. My boss was overly dependant on me.

    Advice to Management

Positive reinforcement & recognition to employees in these times increases employee morale.
