I have been working at Mras

Pros

GE subsidiary
Competitive salary
Six Sigma training

Cons

Limited or no opportunity for advancement
Limited or no career development resources
No alternate work schedule (9/80, 4/10, etc)
Less PTO than competitors in region
No communicated succession plan for management nearing retirement

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lots of managers nearing retirement should present an opportunity for succession planning / career development of qualified staff. Top talent will be lured away by companies offering career path opportunities and/or more attractive benefits packages (AWS, PTO, annual bonuses, etc.). Web-based corporate compliance modules are no substitute for in-service training.

Settle on a vision and pursue it, be proactive in a addressing issues before they become issues and there would be less need to "fight fires".

I worked at Mras full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

They work with you to find a spot in the production area where you best fit in. Give you ample time to learn your job.

    Cons

Pay is under what you would expect for such an important job. Management seems somewhat lazy unless there is a problem.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give more attention to your workers as far as their needs and training.
