Mt. Baker Ski Area Employee Review

I worked at Mt. Baker Ski Area

Pros – Free ski pass.
Ski exchange (free lift passes at various near by resorts).
Amazing mountain with lots of snow and challenging terain.
The senior instructors are amazing people who are always willing to answer questions or educate you on both skiing and instructing.
Many clinics offered to help improve skiing, teaching, and work towards PSIA Certification.
Jake (the boss man) is very in tune to what his employees are telling him and is always willing to work with employees when issues arise. Great boss!

Cons – Coustomers don't tip too offten.
The drive is long from town.
Not a fixed schedule. When you want to go to the mountain you absolutly have to check in at 3 times during the day. This breaks up your skiing and doesn't allow any true days off to ski at Mt. Baker.
There is not much appreciation for ski instructors in head management, maybe because the are so many of us.

Advice to Senior Management – Do not treat the ski instructors as a nucesence. Your mountain needs a ski school. You are very lucky that you have excellent direct managment and supervisers in instruction who are working hard to keep employee moral high.
