Former Employee - Business Analyst in Bangalore (India)

I worked at Mu Sigma full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

1. Awesome learning curve
2. Makes you humble
3. How far you go can be largely dictated by how good you are
4. Management upwards of Senior Managers is generally smart
5. Good brand value
6. Ability to go to onsite (generally, US) at a very young age
7. Can wear many hats at a young age (working in Excel, making client presentations, talking to onsite, potentially directly talking to client, going onsite for short term, long term, etc.)
8. Due to long working hours and having to spend >80-90% of waking hours with work colleagues, you generally become good friends with your team mates as you eat together, drink together, smoke together, have breaks together, etc.

Cons

1. Very poor salary
2. Extreme working hours with little to no work-life balance, hence difficult to sustain for a long period of time
3. The intellect and hard working abilities of the ground level working force - analyst, senior analyst level has deteriorated very significantly over the years due to explosion in the company headcount
4. No more start up culture due to to explosion in the company headcount. Hence a lot of red tape has crept in
5. For people who are sent onsite from India, they have a contract like bond which makes you liable of $10k or more if you leave the company before 2 years or something similar (they keep making it this more stringent every year due to constant onsite attrition)

Advice to ManagementAdvice

1. Increase salary to retain employees
2. Take steps to ensure better work-life balance

Recommends
Positive Outlook
Approves of CEO
