    I worked at Murray Energy

    Pros

high pay to get you in, great benefits if you get the time to use them, lots of intelligent staff regardless of utlization

    Cons

Very open management style, ie. if you expect someone else to have your back, they won't. You are responsible for your work whether you knew about it or not, and you are responsible for other issues in your field, whether you know about it or not. Very negative work atmosphere, 6 day work weeks and some 15 hour work days were put in...as expected. Your time off is not really time off, it just means you get phone meetings instead of being there in person.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize the good with the bad. Communicate effectively. Just because someone is an employee does not mean you own their life. Offer employees some semblance of a work life balance.
