Pros

The name. It carries clout and can open doors. It also gives an unusual opportunity to see behind the scenes at the actual 30 Rock. A peek at how they make the magic happen. If you're lucky, some of the management staff may also take an active interest in mentoring you. IF you're lucky.

Cons

It's as formal as an old school law firm. And the thinking is often as outdated as that, as well. I've never seen such politicking, in-fighting and backbiting. There's no job security. If you want this kind of uncertainty, you might as well go join a start-up.

Advice to Senior Management

Pay attention to your VP-level staff, and please bother to look behind the curtain. There's no wizard there. It's just some insecure climber doing as much backpedaling as he can to justify the salary and position. He's hoping you won't notice.
