I worked at NBCUniversal as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

They take care of everything from transportation to meals, etc. Extra work is fun and pays pretty well: about $100 for the day. Working with Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey was great. The supervisors were polite for a change. It was a long day: about twelve hours, but it went fast. There was plenty to eat and drink, and there were SAG-only tables where you could hang out and shoot the breeze.

    Cons

The frequency of being called for work is up and down. You can get three jobs in a row within a month, or not get called for a few months.

I worked at NBCUniversal as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Big, known brand - good to brag!

Great opportunities for people who're already IN the company. Lots of professional development, references and exciting activities to participate.

    Cons

Everybody just stared at the computer. Everyone seemed always busy. No one really talked, except in meetings and appointments. It seemed as if no one cared to see what's going on around them. A sense of awkwardness and a feeling of being lost!

Dealt with some arrogant HR people, stuck with tons of documentation and old ways of handling things!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Help the team loosen up, and break the silos!
