Pros – -exposure to enterprise level systems
-interaction with Federal government
-great initial team spirit

Cons – -glass ceiling in promotions and salary
-no defined career path at local site
-tons of internal and governmental politics
-limited training budget
-high management turnover. One manager stayed only 2 weeks; average term is 18 months.

Advice to Senior Management – Learn to manage you customer. Local management lost millions of dollars because of inability to manage the customers expectations. NCI should offer the customer a list of solutions to implement, not the other way around. Also, document when a solution is rejected;many times NCI takes the blame for not implementing the solution that was presented in the past but had no proof to show the government that the plan was submitted.
