I have been working at NCR

Pros

competitive salaries and benefits acceptable

Cons

no stability, no career planning possible due to constant reorganization, top mgt is untrustworthy, no concern for employees, workload is huge, not enough resources to do a decent job, expectations are that you will work nights and weekends to achieve average appraisals. Do more with less mentality has reached a breaking point.

I have been working at NCR

    Pros

Excellent and dedicated co-workers who really want to make a positive change in the direction and success of the company.

    Cons

Always looking to see what can you contribute today. Never enough time to do the job right. Got to meet schedule over all else.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get in the trenchs. Install the product, talk to the customers, talk to the people servicing the products. walk the talk.

I have been working at NCR

    Pros

Good place to start if you didn't go to college and have no a+ if you can get in.. great way to get your foot in the door. Some management is great other is terrible and its constantly changing. Union membership in some locations. Benefits, 3% ti .60 cents 401k match, can be very easy going relaxed some days. No direct dealing with a manager down your back you're on your own!

    Cons

Low pay, low morale, low chance for advancement ops. constant changing in workforce causing problems throughout the company, pissing away of money after multiple bad years by execs that may very well leave this company bankrupt within a decade.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

NCR used to be such an amazing company. Invented thermal paper in the 50's, the LCD in the 60's, cracked japans code purple, also cracked the 4 encryption wheel enigma used by the nazis in world war 2 after the British failed at their attempts (England cracked the earlier 3 wheel model), and countless other things that nobody ever even had a clue about such rich history and lore within its walls. It was a vital company in Americas greatness... and as this country is suffering so is this company. We have not developed anything new or out of the box in decades and this is why NCR is falling behind. This company used to give full paid benefits for you and your family *you pay nothing), full pensions, competitive salary's, and even paid for higher education. People grew withing the company and made it better. Now people get hired scavenge it like rats for whatever they can rape NCR for and leave when there's nothing but destruction in their wake.. Seems in the end the only people left are the old time grunts... here's to you fellows, some of you and your family's have done your country an honorable service!

The top 10%of hierarchy is grossly and disgustingly overpaid, and it just amazes me people can so easily piss away that kind of money when the people who help them make it cant even afford to send their kids to college or go on vacation, or die on a business trip and gripe about paying to send the body back for Christ's sake support their family's.
