Who are you sucking up to with the comments above?
NCR CE's love to complain but not do anything about it. Last year the IBEW tried to organize here in the New England area. We had a vote but lost with 69 FOR and 82 AGAINST forming a union. Right now Southern California is also in the procsess of have a vote hopefully FOR the IBEW. NCR just keeps putting the squeeze on us more & more every year wanting more for less. All US CE's just received a check for a 10 Million Dollar Class Action Lawsuite due to unpaid overtime. CE's were working thru there lunch hour and doing administrative, email & training on there own time. This was and is still going on all over the country. The Law Suite was started by former CE Michelle Teeter who has since left NCR to become an IBEW Organizer on the West Coast. Go for it Michelle! The rest of the CE's need to grow some hair on there chests and stand up, vote FOR the IBEW so they can have a voice instead of complaining and doing nothing about it.

I am a CE who left the company for two years and came back. I worked 70 hours a week, through lunch, before and after my scheduled shift to keep up. I got my check and cashed it, and I am glad NCR paid us because we were owed. Now I work my normal schedule, I take my lunch 98% of the time, If I get a page during my lunch I enter the appropiate ETA on a call and continue with my lunch. You see, I have the mindset that NCR can not force me to work through my lunch or at any other time without compensation, I do not whine, I just manage my day. You can not turn off your pager, but that does not mean you can not take your lunch. This is the service industry, and that is what I see other services do. My carpet installer, the plumber, the refrigeration tech, they all took their lunch, had their phones and pagers on, but did not whine. You want a union? You have the right! But do not criticize me because I do not want to pay dues to another layer of bureacracy that just wants to make money off me, and has no real interest in me. The interest of the union is the union. Without paying members it can not survive.

You're comparing us to carpet installers, plumbers, refrigeration techs? Come on , we're a cut above them all or at least we use to be. Then NCR took on the Walmart White Trash account and now we've been draaged down to the same level as Walmart employee's. Might as well be a door greater! This was a career minded quality job, now it's just a job. Upper management has screwed us and put more $$$ in there greedy pockets. For instance 20 years ago a CEO made 35 to 40 times what we make, now Bill "Screw You" Nutti makes 350 to 400 times what we make. This is true not just for NCR but US Industry in general. Instead of upper executive's making less and putting more back into the company and it's employee's like they do in Japan we outsource jobs whenever possible. Know wonder the country's so screwed up. I also blame George Bush and his "Friends and Family Plan". It's time to stand up and fight back with the IBEW backing us up. Unions helped build this country a century ago and things were good for the working man. We're right back there again and it's time for a change. If you don't like it get lost.

Ass. I have worked in Union environments and non union ones. The truth is that Unions first concern is the survival of the union. Union dues go up just like anything else, and you will be paying more. I see you are angry, and so be it. You take a personal approach to my comments when you do not know me, and you believe I am wrong by comparing you to my carpet installer? My carpet installer treated me with respect, because I am a customer. I have noticed that not many of your kind treat the customer with respect, whoever that customer happens to be. It is evident by your comment "Wal-mart White Trash" that you are one of them. My carpet installer does a good job at my home as well as for a home in the projects, because we are all his customers and he needs to get paid. He could be a union member, but he is not, because the union looks good until it fails you and you still have to pay the dues. I've been there. Also, I guess you are not looking for a job, because no employer is going to hire an arrogant ass like yourself. Oh yeah, don't tell me to get lost, you are commenting on my posts imbecil!

I love what I do and have been fixing/working on "Man Made Machines" since I was 10. You must be a dumb kid, I have several close relatives who are executives and they all say NCR NEEDS A UNION. The companies they are or were with treated the employee's decnt to keep Unions out. I have never been in one but have been here 32 years and have seen dramatic changes and cutbacks. Twenty years ago when AT&T bought us the CWA tried to get in but didn't and I didn't want a union back then either. I have friends/CE's who are Teamsters in New York/North Jersey and every one of them is glad they're in the Union. Also one of my "Study Buddies" I went to school with was from Western Canada where they have been in the IBEW for 35 years. They still have CE 3's too. Go Union or you'll be sorry. The user who posted comments on my thread certainly has the right to his own opinion. My post is my opinion, as an employee. Post your own opinion about your company or one that you worked for in the past. As a user of glassdoor.com, I want to see what everyone thinks about any company that I may be interested to work for. If you want to push for your own political views, there are better venues to do so. For my part, I posted my review, it is at the top of this thread, and if you don't agree, you certainly have the right, but please keep your own agenda to yourself.
