I worked at NELSON

Pros

Decent insurance and other benefits.
Good co-workers; an image of hardworking, warm hearted factory workers working for mean, egoistic, factory owners.

Cons

Unprofessional organization, poor management, no respect for design, draining energy, no promotions (unless if you are friend with upper management)

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire a professional workplace consultant to improve corporate culture.

I have been working at NELSON

    Pros

Ambitious growth oriented company with recent great diversification of skills, talent, geographic coverage.

    Cons

With growth through mergers comes change- allow enough time to balance and time to rebalance with the growth

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Acknowledge the accomplishments of a talented hard working team(s) in a very compeitive environment for work and talent - celebrate the good!

    Recommends
    Positive Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I worked at NELSON full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits, a fun team generally. Ozzie was great at staying in touch with the staff. A tough job considering the size of the company. They seem to have stabilized in recent years.

    Cons

A lot of change in the last 5 years. Many acquisitions causes shifts in leadership and an ever evolving peer group. Can be a little old fashioned, but its clientele are conservative so not so much a judgement but the reality of their business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Build a better brand team. The Nelson brand doesn't represent some of the younger, more dynamic talent it is so proud of. They are leaving because of it.

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook
    Approves of CEO
