I have been working at NRECA

Pros

Nice offices, if you like granite and marble--and the sort of decor that looks like an interior designer's idea of down-home midwest.

Cons

Politics, bullying, bad behavior all abound. And for such expensive offices, this can be a very uncomfortable place to work.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be honest with people. While the organization wraps itself in the whole aura of helping others, the reality is most of the organization's revenues derive from its for-profit activities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give more responsibility to team leads. Check dept. heads for their contributions more often.

    I worked at NRECA

    Pros

Great benefits, competitive salary for non-profit sector, solid work-life balance and friendly staff.

    Cons

There is no upward mobility. You stay in the same job, doing the same thing year after year. The organization is very slow to change in both culture and processes. Management talks the talk. Promises are made, but nothing every changes. If you are looking for a 9 to 5 job, with little to no change, and limited opportunities, this organization is for you.
