Pros

NRG dabbles in areas outside its traditional business which sometimes creates new opportunities. Ample flexibility to move within the organization.

Corporate culture needs improvement. Work/Life balance seems to apply only to senior management.

I have been working at NRG Energy full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Company pays well. NRG is a nimble company that tries to maximize shareholder value. Opportunity for advancement.

    Cons

Maximizing shareholder value means more work with fewer people. It can be more of a challenge than people can handle at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't take on new small initiatives at once; work out the ROI before we start on it. There have been many failed (small) ventures that have spent time/resources.
