Old workforce, antique leadership

Supervisor (Former Employee)
Boston, MA

I worked at NSTAR Electric

ProsGreat pay if you are not working a storm for free. Great benefits which they have recently started to take away from management. If you are in the union you can do anything you want and make as much money as you want.

ConsLack of leadership. Everything I'd fly by the seat of your pants. During storms management works for free while the union gets rich.

Advice to Senior ManagementEnforce the rules when it comes to the union. Management should be paid for their time worked. Don't lead through fear.

Great for networking and meeting people in energy industry

Pros: The atmosphere is quite friendly and there is an open floor plan. The culture… Cons: As a government utility, it is slow to change. There is no competition against other utilities so the changes a normal… Advice to Senior Management: Motivation is key, but so is keeping your most talented employees. Run… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More
